What time is Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One tonight as public vote opens for first time?

The Strictly Come Dancing journey kicked off last week with the brand new batch of 15 celebrities and their professional partners making their debut in the ballroom.

Fans of the hit BBC One show were treated to not one but two installments of the programme with the launch show swiftly followed by the first official week of the all-sparkling dance competition..

Saturday's show saw actor Will Mellor and wildlife presenter Hamza Yassin place joint top of the leaderboard, both achieving an impressive score of 34 in week one. Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps star Will performed an electric jive to Livin’ La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin with his partner Nancy Xu.

Judges Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas were so stunned by Will's hip-swirling performance that they gave him a standing ovation. In contrast, Hamza and pro partner Jowita Przystal dazzled with their beautifully joyful foxtrot to Islands In The Stream by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers to secure their top mark.

But you could say the competition really begins this Saturday as the judges scores from last week will be carried over and added to tonight's scores before the public vote opens for the first time for viewers to cast their verdict.

The latest episode will air at 6.30pm on BBC One followed by the pre-recorded results show on Sunday night (October 2) at 7.15pm.

The routines for Saturday night's show were revealed earlier this week. Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin will waltz to Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley. Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe will paso doble to Les Toreadors by Georges Bizet. Fleur East and Vito Coppola will perform the Viennese waltz to Glimpse Of Us by Joji and Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez will cha cha to Rain On Me by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
