What time is Match of the Day on this weekend?

Match of the Day presenter, Gary Lineker.

BBC's Match of the Day continues under Gary Linekar's stewardship again this Saturday night, with the weekend's Premier League action set for a thrilling highlights slot.

Though 13 Premier League teams are in action in the Carabao Cup this week, Match of the Day will still show seven games this Saturday, as the season enters November. There's some great games to look forward to, too, with Arsenal's trip to St. James' Park to take on Newcastle a real test of their title credentials, while a couple of scraps at the bottom could make the relegation battle that little bit clearer.

Match of the Day 2 will also round up Sunday's games, with Manchester United vs Chelsea the pick of the bunch. How will the Red Devils fare under new management now that Erik ten Hag has been sacked? Find out this weekend.

But what time is Match of the Day on this weekend, and who are the pundits? FourFourTwo details everything you need to know about the much-loved show below...

Who is presenting Match of the Day this weekend?

Gary Lineker is set to present Match of the Day this weekend.

Former England striker Lineker has been the face of Match of the Day since replacing Des Lynam in 1999. Almost a quarter of a century later, Lineker is still going strong and has become synonymous with the programme. When he stepped away due to a dispute over some of his comments on X (formerly Twitter) in March this year, several of his fellow presenters and pundits followed him, but the former Tottenham and Barcelona striker was soon back on our screens.

Mark Chapman is set to present Match of the Day 2 this weekend.

Chapman has been associated with the BBC for some time, having initially presented on BBC Radio 5 Live before becoming a stand-in presenter on Match of the Day 2 in 2009. Chapman has more often than not been the main presenter on the Sunday night show but has also stood in for Lineker if the former England international has work commitments elsewhere. Chapman also now splits his duties with the BBC with presenting Sky Sports’ live Carabao Cup coverage.

Watch Match of the Day this weekend

Use a VPN to watch Match of the Day from outside your country

If you’re out of the country on a Saturday night (go you!) then annoyingly your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows where you are because of your IP address (boo!). You'll be blocked from watching it, which is not ideal if you’ve paid up for a subscription and still want to catch the action without resorting to illegal feeds you’ve found on Reddit.

But assistance is on hand. To get around that, all you have to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and t'internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and won't automatically block the service you've paid for. All the info going between is entirely encrypted – and that's a result.
