A third ally of Boris Johnson has quit as MP heaping further pressure on prime minister Rishi Sunak.
Nigel Adams became the latest MP to announce his departure from the Commons in less than 24 hours.
Mr Johnson and Nadine Dorries have also quit with immediate effect, meaning Mr Sunak now faces the daunting prospect of three by-elections.

He also lashed out at Mr Sunak, suggesting his government was not conservative.
“It feels to me he is angry and he is convinced by his own truth and his own righteousness,” Will Walden, Mr Johnson’s former press secretary, said earlier.
“There’s no apology, no taking responsibility. It all feels very Trumpian. I think a large part of him actually believes that he really has been done wrong.”
