Arsenal recorded a vital 2-0 victory over local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday's North London Derby thanks to a Hugo Lloris own goal and a Martin Odegaard strike.
Mikel Arteta's men dominated early proceedings, pressing the Lillywhites high, suffocating their build-up and forcing Lloris into an early mistake with his distribution before the Frenchman atoned for his error by saving Eddie Nketiah's close-range shot. However, the Spurs captain then another blunder just a few minutes later, parrying Bukayo Saka's cross into his own net to hand the Gunners the lead after 14 minutes.
Norwegian playmaker Odegaard then doubled the away side's advantage shortly before half-time as Tottenham's defence afforded the 24-year-old acres of space before he fired a low-driven shot into the bottom corner past a sprawling Lloris. There was plenty of controversy throughout the fiery encounter too, with Spurs attacker Richalrison refusing to acknowledge fellow Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli's attempt at a fist bump.

Speaking about the run-in with his countryman after the full-time whistle, Richarlison told ESPN Brasil: "It was a foul there that the referee ended up giving, we were close to the move, in my opinion it wasn’t, I told him he was diving a lot, so I didn’t shake his hand. I’m apologising to him.
"Like it or not, he’s my teammate. It’s part of the game, it’s a derby, we were hot headed."
Richarlison also was frustrated with another Brazilian in the form of Gabriel Magalhaes, and the former Everton star admitted that the Arsenal defender's time-wasting caused an argument between the pair. He added: "With Gabriel [Magalhaes], we argued a little because I wanted to get on with the game.
"He ended up getting yellow, and I said to him, ‘let’s play, let’s play’. I told him they were stopping play all the time, it’s part of the game."
