What Pep Guardiola did to Gabriel Jesus at full-time whistle of Arsenal vs Manchester City

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus was spotted in deep conversation with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola after the full-time whistle at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners have dropped to second position in the Premier League table with City moving top due to their superior goal difference.

Jesus enjoyed five successful years at the Etihad Stadium winning four Premier League titles, three league cups and an FA Cup. The Brazilian forward was a crucial figure for Guardiola for a number of years before choosing to reunite with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal last summer.

The arrival of Erling Haaland and chance to try a new challenge saw Jesus complete a £45million switch from the Etihad Stadium to north London. Jesus has been absent through injury since the World Cup after sustaining a knee problem whilst away with Brazil in Qatar.

Following City's 3-1 win against the Gunners, Jesus was spotted talking to his former manager with Guardiola giving the Brazilian a kiss on the cheek as the City boss exited down the tunnel. Fans had spotted the Arsenal star prior to kick-off lurking around the tunnel as he watched his former team beat his current side in a huge clash which could be influential in the Premier League title race.

It's unclear what was being said between Guardiola and Jesus but it looked as though the Spaniard was offering some comfort with his former striker still continuing his rehabilitation from a knee injury. Jesus may be set for a return to first team training in a few weeks time after Arteta revealed the 25-year-old had returned to the grass to carry out individual sessions.

The Gunners may have been moved off their perch at the top of the league, but they still have a game in hand and can restore their three point advantage should they beat Everton. Next up for Arteta's side is a trip to Villa Park to face Unai Emery's Aston Villa side.
