What Leeds United fans should expect from a Jesse Marsch team

Following Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United is going to be an extraordinarily challenging task, as the Argentine established himself as a club legend at Elland Road. His departure from his managerial role at the club on Sunday - following a run of taking only one point from six games and conceding three or more goals in the last four fixtures and leaving the club in danger of relegation - has set off a wave of emotion in the fanbase. Even those who felt the decision to move on from Bielsa was the right one feeling the sense of loss.

The man Leeds' board have appointed in place of Bielsa is former RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg & New York Red Bulls manager Jesse Marsch. The American was named recently as the man the club earmarked to come in at the end of the season, should all parties agree that it was time for a new face in the dugout at Elland Road. However, recent results have caused them to move the timeline forwards.

Marsch's style of play is deemed close enough to Bielsa's that Leeds will not be tearing up everything that has gone before to get Leeds back to the Premier League after 16 years away, before finishing in ninth place in the division last season. However, there are some important differences and it seems that those differences, plus a new voice and message for the players, is what Andrea Radrizzani and co are banking on to turn the Whites' form around.
