What kind of trade value will Jaylen Brown have for the Boston Celtics when he is eligible to be dealt again? At present, the Georgia native cannot be traded to any team in the NBA even if all parties agreed it was for the best due to the terms of his new supermax contract extension.
But eventually, a year after Brown inked his new deal, he will be able to be traded. What sort of value will the Cal alum have on a supermax-sized contract, and what sort of returns could the Celtics expect to get if they did elect to swap him for another ball club’s package? The answer could be more complicated than you might think.
That did not stop the host of the “Locked On Celtics” podcast John Karalis from offering up his perspective on such a move, including a more granular perspective on what all parties might be after in such a hypothetical.
