What Jordan Pickford said to Harry Kane after his goal during Tottenham vs Everton

Jordan Pickford tried to install some doubt into Harry Kane's head after he scored in the 5-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night.

The England striker scored two goals in the tie, taking him past Thierry Henry in the all-time goal scorers of the Premier League, with a total of 176.

Kane's brace against the Toffees was alongside Sergio Reguilon, Son Heung-min and an own goal from Michael Keane taking the scoreline to five.

The Lilywhites currently sit seventh in the league but are still in the mix for a top four spot as they are three points behind Arsenal, although their north London rivals do have a game in hand.

It was another spot-on performance from the striker and he gave his assessment of the performance in his post match interview with Sky Sports.

"I think credit to the boys, the way we set out with a high intensity, the way we pressed, won the ball back and then punished them on the break and then to start the second half like we did and really kill the game off was something we haven't done for a while, especially in this Premier League season," Kane admitted.

Both of the 28-year-old's goals were assisted by Matt Doherty, another of Antonio Conte's players who has produced some solid performances in recent games.

The assists for both goals and build up to them showed good signs of play from the Irishman but Kane revealed what his England teammate said to him after scoring.

"As I was coming back, Pickers [Pickford] was saying ‘you’re offside’ and he was ready to take a free kick," Kane admitted. "I'm not sure if he was just trying to trying to worm his way in there."

The striker also spoke about his technique and his success in front of goal.

"That's what it's all about, getting those chances in the game," Kane explained. "I always feel like I'm confident that I'm going to hit the target at least and especially keeping it low.

"I'm someone who likes to keep the ball low, always trying to find the bottom corners instead of the top corners and that is just the way I've been taught as I’ve grown up.

"I'm still working on my craft and trying to improve and I think that's the only way to keep playing at the top level," he added.

Tottenham fans and Conte will both hope the 28-year-old can keep consistency with his recent performances and continue to be the key player for Spurs that he has been for a number of year.
