What Joao Felix did on his first day at Chelsea after loan transfer completed ahead of Fulham

Joao Felix has been pictured in his first Chelsea training session after signing from Atletico Madrid on a six-month loan deal. The transfer will keep him at the club until the end of the season but there is no obligation or option for him to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge after that.

In a bid to further secure their position when it comes to the summer Atletico even extended his deal until 2027. Having moved from Benfica in 2019 for £111million, the Spanish side are still looking for a sizeable return on that fee. Chelsea will pay £11million to have Felix for this period on top of paying 100% of his wages.

With Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic both injured Potter may well be forced to turn to his new 23-year-old attacker as soon as he is available. When asked about him before the Blues face Fulham on Thursday, Potter said, “He's a quality player, can make a difference in the final third of the pitch, young but has obviously had a lot of really good experience. He's a quality player that gives everyone a lift."
