  • Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe has ended his 20-year association with Nike to sign a new deal with the Roger Federer-backed sportswear brand On.
  • Former France striker Thierry Henry has also joined the Swiss sportswear company as its director of football to assist in building the brand's new football division.
  • On intends to release its inaugural line of football boots in 2027, with Mbappe set to be at the heart of the campaign and product innovation.
  • The departure marks another significant blow to Nike's presence in football after World Cup winner Lamine Yamal recently left the company to join Adidas.
  • Both Mbappe and Henry emphasised their desire to innovate and bring a fresh perspective to the sport, whilst Nike issued a statement wishing the forward continued success.
