Commuters have been warned to drive carefully as freezing fog and “polar vortex” winds risk delays and difficult driving conditions on Monday.

The Met Office said parts of the East Midlands, Lincolnshire, East Anglia and London would be hit by an icy chill while freezing temperatures could see untreated surfaces become slippery.
