He was seen clutching the back of his left leg before speaking to the Miami bench while play continued.

With MLS set to pause for the World Cup, the 38-year-old now faces a crucial recovery period ahead of Argentina’s opening match against Algeria on June 16. Before leaving the field, Messi had already registered two assists in a game that saw a league-record eight goals scored in a single half.
