Gareth Bale is the biggest name linked with a move to Wrexham since they gained promotion to the Football League.
Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have made their intentions clear to bring the former Tottenham star to the Racecourse Ground ahead of their first season in the EFL in 15 years.
The popularity of the club and standing of its famous owners has allowed it to attract players already above the standard paygrade for the fifth tier of English football with Paul Mullin starring for two years as well as temporary transfer Ben Foster.

Following a back-and-forth on social media between Bale, Reynolds and McElhenney, Bale seemed to turn down the chance to move to Wrexham when speaking at the UK Sport Industry Awards 2023. He said: "No I don’t think so," when asked about the prospect of playing for Wrexham. "I think I was looking more for a free round of golf off Rob.
"I'm sure we'll have a chat and a joke but I'm quite happy where I am. I'm spending a lot of time with my kids, my wife, time that I've lost so much over the years being committed to football. I'm just enjoying family life and playing some golf."
And Bale has recently shared a video of him just doing that. The former Wales international posted a video of him celebrating his first hole-in-one on Wednesday whilst on a golf course in California.
"This is a video for the ages," his friend, Ollie Schindler, said on the video. "Gareth Bale, he doesn't just do bicycle kicks."
For now, Bale isn't expected to make a dramatic return to football, with him clearly preferring life on the golf course.
