We’re now on site at Parklife 2023, and things are already - quite literally - hotting up. It’s baking, with temperatures set to nudge the late 20s this afternoon. It’s also getting close to lunchtime.
While making sure you get enough liquids on board is essential - let’s be sensible out there - you’re going to need fuel if you’re going to make it all the way through to Aitch’s headline set on the Parklife stage.
So we’ve had a scout around for the best looking options…
Colombo Street
Smash burgers and fried chicken are great, but how about something a little more adventurous. Perhaps try out the devilled fish or jackfruit kottu stir fry (£12), a paneer masala stir fry (£11) or the coco chicken at £11.50. A little piece of Colombo in North Manchester.
Eat NYC
Parklife faves Eat NYC are dishing out salt beef bagels, burgers and hot dogs all day long, with the ENY cheeseburger costing, a salt beef bagel at £8.50 or a vegan cheeseburger all costing £8.50. Fries will cost you £4.50, with cheesy fries at £5.50.
Crooked K’s
If mac and cheese is what you’re hankering for, Crooked K’s has got you. There’s Mom’s Vintage at £10, the basil-heavy Hey Pesto at £12, the Smokey Bacon at £12 and the mushroom mac at £12 too.
Wrap Up Burritos
Wrap are back at Parklife once again, serving up a wealth of burritos. The Pedro’s chicken is £12.50, the Herbie’s halloumi is £12.50 and the veggie five bean is £11.50. For those plant-based folks, there’s a vegan five bean too, also at £11.50.
Chicken Run
There’s chicken for miles at Chicken Run, with a ‘bite box’ - fillet bites, smokey fries, salad and slaw - coming in at £12, the Run D M Dippers also at £12, or for those who skipped breakfast, a big banquet at £15, with strips, fillets, smokey fries and slaw.
The Nomadic Life
In a smart airstream van, this food truck is serving up its signature chicken burger or a vegan katsu burger at £10.95, with sides like loaded potato puffs with cheese and parmesan, halloumi fries or southern fried chicken tenders, all at £7.95
Tom’s Thai
If you’re not hot enough already, maybe trough down some spicy thai business. A green curry with chicken or tofu is £13, or a pad thai with chicken (or tofu) is also £13. A sharing platter with green curry, white rice, a pad thai, spring rolls and prawn crackers weighs in at £16.
