What do the medals worn by King Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Edward mean?

The royal family paid their respects to Queen Elizabeth II during her state funeral on Monday (September 19). The service, which took place at Westminster Abbey, was watched by millions in the UK and around the world.

A ceremony of pomp and pageantry, the funeral was attended by the Queen's children, grandchildren and even her great-grandchildren, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. King Charles, the Queen's son, wore his Royal Navy uniform and his son and heir, Prince William, dressed in RAF colours at the funeral.

Both the Duke of Sussex and Duke of York, who also served in the military, were dressed in formal mourning clothes for the state funeral because they are no longer working members of the royal family.
