"Yeah I had to walk back to my daughter, who had her head in her hands," she said. "She said 'Mum, only you could have done that'!"
Katie added: "I didn’t put it on [Facebook] for about 12 hours because I wanted to check with the girls they were both happy, but they said, 'No mum do it.'
"Everyone deserves a laugh. It’s funny, you can’t help but laugh at it - we just need to laugh."
Holly Willoughby laughed and speculated it will be the last sports day Katie is asked to, adding: "Well, she won't ask you again, won't she?"
Holly said: "When you were down, did you think that 'oh my God please don't let my bottom be up'?"
Katie said: "Yes exactly. It also kind of went in slo-mo, so I felt it happen but didn't feel the dress go over my head.
"It was only afterwards I thought — 'Oh my God', and I pulled it down obviously."
Co-host Phillip Schofield chimed in and said he didn't see anyone running to her assistance.
Admitting she’s a clumsy person in everyday life, Katie said: "All the time. That’s another reason why I shared it with friends and family because they said, 'There’s no surprise there, that reminds me of the time you were a kid.'"
