What Crystal Palace's big win at Leeds United means for West Ham and the relegation battle

It has been another big weekend in the Premier League for the teams battling to avoid relegation, including West Ham United.

The Hammers secured a vital victory with a 1-0 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, moving David Moyes' men three points clear of the relegation zone.

There was also a crucial 1-0 away win for their relegation rivals Bournemouth against Leicester City respectively, while Wolves won 1-0 against Chelsea at Molineux to move Julen Lopetegui's men four points clear of the bottom three.

There were defeats for Everton and Nottingham Forest, 2-0 against Manchester United and Aston Villa respectively, with Forest dropping in to the relegation zone as a result, while bottom club Southampton lost 4-1 at home against Manchester City.

There was another big clash between two clubs battling to avoid relegation on Sunday afternoon, with Leeds United hosting Crystal Palace at Elland Road.

Leeds took the lead through Patrick Bamford, but the Yorkshire side ended up on the wrong side of a heavy defeat as Palace roared back to win 5-1, with Marc Guehi scoring an equaliser on the stroke of half time, before two goals from Jordan Ayew, together with strikes from Ebere Eze and Odsonne Edouard, helped the Eagles to a big win.

As a result, Palace have now moved six points clear of the bottom three, with Roy Hodgson's side now up to 12th position and 33 points from 30 games.

Leeds United, meanwhile, are 16th on 29 points, with Javi Gracia's side now having a goal difference that stands at -15, which is three goals worse than rivals West Ham and Leicester, who sit 14th and 19th respectively.

With all the nine teams battling to avoid relegation having now played this weekend, the bottom half of the Premier League looks as follows:
