Mark Feehily has pulled out of Westlife's tour to undergo surgery after his battle with pneumonia.
The group have a run of shows booked throughout the summer with stops in Denmark, Sweden, Mexico, Cardiff.
While Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne will go ahead with the gigs, Mark will be absent from the shows.
As he recuperates following medical treatment this week, the star posted a statement.
“There is nothing to worry about I promise,” he said on social media.
"But under doctor’s orders this surgery needs to happen sooner rather than later and will also require some recovery time throughout the summer.
“I want you to know that I was very excited to see you all and perform but this is something that can’t be avoided and I know that you will all still have the time of your lives at what will be some amazing shows!
“I’ll be there with you all in spirit and very much look forward to getting back on stage with the lads very soon!”
Mark announced he was returning to the tour in January this year after battling pneumonia.
The singer had to take time off after falling ill, but told his fans he was finally feeling better.
He took to Instagram to share his happy update after doctors told him he was 'pleased' with his recovery.
Accompanied by Diana Ross' hit song I'm Coming Out, Mark added a rainbow filter as he shared a clip of himself celebrating.
"I've got great news the doctor has said I can get back to normal!!! See you soon," he wrote over the footage.
Mark then tagged his bandmates, calling them 'legends' as he praised them for switching up the show with 'one hours notice' when he 'made the horrible phone call to tell you I couldn't do the show.'
Westlife’s Wild Dreams tour was initially scheduled to take place three years ago, but had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Irish boy band released a statement on Twitter that read: "To all our UK fans - it is with great sadness that despite best efforts, our shows scheduled for the UK in June and July must be cancelled."
Singer Nicky told us the safety of their fans was the most important thing to them.
He said: "Health, safety and enjoyment of everyone attending our shows have always been of utmost importance to us, we will all come back stronger than before and on the plus side it gives us all an extra year to get our dance moves right."
