A Yonkers resident has tested positive for West Nile virus, the first confirmed human case in Westchester County this year, county health officials said. The case was confirmed Tuesday by the Westchester County Department of Health.
The county said the resident had recently traveled outside Westchester, and that officials are working with the patient to determine whether the exposure occurred during that trip or closer to home. That question is unresolved, and the county has not released the patient's age or condition.
