Last week, Gayle Conelly Manchin, the wife of Senator Joe Manchin, found herself involved in a car accident while attending a grant workshop in Birmingham, Alabama. Thankfully, after spending a couple of nights in the hospital, she is now back home in West Virginia and feeling grateful for her recovery.
Gayle, who serves as the federal co-chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission, was traveling with her colleague, Guy Land, when their vehicle was struck by another car. Both Gayle and Guy were promptly taken to the University of Alabama Birmingham trauma medical team for treatment.
