West Virginia Governor Jim Justice made headlines at the Republican National Convention by praising former President Donald Trump in his speech on Tuesday. What caught the attention of many was the presence of Justice's beloved bulldog, Babydog, who sat by his side during the address.
Justice, who is currently running for Senate to fill Joe Manchin's seat, has a history of switching party affiliations. He was an independent and a Republican until 2015 when he ran for governor as a Democrat. However, in 2017, he announced his decision to change his registration to Republican at a rally alongside Trump.
During his speech, Justice emphasized the importance of Trump's re-election, stating, 'The bottom line to every single thing that's going on in this great country today is one thing: we become totally unhinged if Donald Trump is not elected in November.' He praised Trump as 'super smart' and a 'business guy,' highlighting his personal interactions with Trump's sons.
As the convention came to a close, Justice made a bold prediction through Babydog, stating that Republicans would retain the House majority, flip the Senate, and ultimately secure the re-election of Donald J. Trump and JD Vance in November.
