A West Lothian retiree has triumphed in a gruelling charity challenge that saw him cycle over 400 miles across the UK before conquering Britain’s three highest peaks.
Gordon Young (61) has raised cash for Scotland’s international healthcare charity EMMS International after completing the Malawi Bike Ride 22 and the Three Peaks Challenge.
Gordon, from Linlithgow, joined pals and fellow retirees John Bruce (65) and his wife Tina (63), from Inverness, on the Malawi Bike Ride, which has traditionally taken place in the East African country, by climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, completing the challenge on Friday 9 September.
