West Lothian man jumped by three masked thugs in terrifying street robbery

West Lothian police are hunting for three masked thugs that robbed a lone man as he walked through an alleyway in Blackridge.

The incident took place on October 18, around 4.00pm when a 26-year-old man was walking along an alley from Main Street towards Drummond Place.

When he reached the point when the alley splits off to the right towards Hillside Drive he saw three men running towards him.

The shaken individual was then assaulted and his mobile phone, cigarettes and rucksack were taken. He did not require medical treatment.

The thugs were all wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, one of which had a red logo on the front and fled towards the Main Street following the attack.

Although the man targeted was not seriously injured the he was left shaken and bruised. Local police are now appealing for information so they can catch whoever is responsible as soon as possible.

Detective Constable Ross Collett said: “Fortunately no one was seriously injured, but the man was left bruised and shaken. I am appealing to anyone who saw these men hanging around, either before or after the incident to get in touch.”

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2374 of Tuesday, 18 October, 2022, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
