A West Lothian DJ will enjoy life in the fast lane when he plays a set at the Grand Prix at Silverstone next month.
Chrissy Meechan will join fellow Scot Calvin Harris at the F1 British Grand Prix after being asked to perform by Red Bull.
The Dj, from Livingston, has come a long way since he first got behind the decks in 2012 with Coasters Discotheques and put on his own nights at the Harvester pub in Knightsridge - recently playing a gig at the lofty heights of the Nevis Mountain Range.
Over the years he has supported a number of DJs throughout the years including The Chainsmokers, Sigala, Radio 1’s Danny Howard and played in front of over 4000 people at I AM Hardwell at The Royal Highland Centre in 2014.
In 2020 he was offered a record deal on the very first song he produced after he came third in a national DJ competition held by WKD and Mixcloud after he was a resident DJ at the world famous Plus Club in Laganas, Zante.
He also played Europe’s biggest boat party, VVIP.
Now he’s stepping it up a gear and says he can’t wait to be performing at the Grand Prix.
He said: “I’ve been doing quite a lot of DJ ing work with Redbull- who are going to be one of the main entertainment providers - over the last two years including DJing up Glencoe for their MightyCoe Festival, The Nevis Mountain Range for various types of events.
“My next one is going to feature the amazing Danny MacAskill and the Wings for Life Marathon in Glasgow.
“I’m absolutely buzzing! I got put forward from one of the Scotland Redbull team and can’t wait to get there and play for the four days!”
