The nomination period is now under way for potential candidates in the Local Government By-Election in the Broxburn, Uphall and Winchburgh ward of West Lothian Council.
So far two candidates, both former councillors in the ward, have announced they will stand. Former Labour councillor Tony Boyle has again been selected for Labour while former Conservative councillor Chris Horne has announced he will stand as an independent.
Prospective candidates can submit nomination papers between 10am and 4pm from Monday 24 October to Friday 28 October. Please call the Election Team on 01506 282035 if you wish to make an appointment to lodge nomination papers.

Nomination papers can be found via the West Lothian Council website, where you can also find the Notice of Election and other relevant information for candidates and voters.

The By-Election for the Broxburn, Uphall and Winchburgh ward of West Lothian Council is to be held on Thursday 1 December 2022.
Eligible voters have until midnight on Monday 21 November 2022 to make sure they are registered to vote in the by-election on Thursday 1 December 2022. Registering to vote is now very easy. You can register to vote via https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or by calling 0131 344 2500 and the Electoral Registration Office will help with telephone registration.
