West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is reportedly under investigation over potential breaches of the Football Association’s betting guidelines.
No charges have been filed against the Brazilian at this stage with the nature of the alleged breaches unknown, following a report in the Daily Mail revealing the investigation.
Both West Ham and the FA have declined to comment. The player himself is also yet to respond to the media reports.
Paqueta has recently been the subject of transfer interest from Manchester City, who were keen on spending upwards of £70million on the 25-year-old but had seen an opening offer rejected by West Ham.
It remains to be seen if Paqueta will still feature in the Hammers’ squad to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Blues travel to London Stadium for a 4.30pm kick-off against David Moyes’ side, who involved Paqueta from the start in last week’s draw at Bournemouth.
