West Ham solution to keeping Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen away from Man Utd and Liverpool

West Ham can kiss goodbye to Jarrod Bowen and Declan Rice unless they finally back David Moyes in the transfer market.

It might not happen this summer, but eventually Rice and Bowen will jump ship for bigger things unless the club starts matching their ambition.

Rice is already on the radar of Chelsea and both Manchester clubs, and Liverpool are monitoring Bowen, who scored the winner over Watford on Tuesday night.

That was his 11th goal in 34 games in all competitions. He also has 10 assists. And Rice admits he is carrying the Hammers right now.

The England midfielder said: "Without his goals we’d be struggling. He’s really stepped it up. His goals and assists - he’s a really top player and he’s going to be a star."

It's not just Bowen but Rice too who has stepped up this season though, adding important goals to his game and becoming a driving force in midfield as he dominates games.

West Ham only squeaked past Kidderminster in the FA Cup after the pair both scored in a narrow extra time win to avoid an almighty giant-killing

And team-mate Tomas Soucek said: "Declan showed in the last game that he can score important goals as well.

"He’s a great player and, like Jarrod now, he’s in great form. We are happy that we have Jarrod because he’s a good guy and a good player.

“He shows us every day at Rush Green, the training ground, and also he transfers it to the games. He’s an important player."

But after the Cup game Kidderminster defender Alex Penny, who played with Bowen at Hull, summed up the fears of many Hammers fans when it comes to the winger's future.

He said: "It is only going to be a matter of time before he is in an England shirt and then a bigger team snaps him up as well. West Ham should enjoy him while they can."

The Hammers should enjoy both Bowen and Rice while they can, because they are destined for the top.

And how much longer they stick around may just depend on how ambitious the club is next summer in an absolutely pivotal transfer window.

West Ham failed with big bids for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez and Leeds and England ace Kalvin Phillips in January, with Moyes claiming three record offers for players were made.

They cannot fail again this summer or they may as well kiss goodbye to their two big stars - and their future.
