West Ham United have seen a bid of £33.8million rejected by Lyon to sign attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
After reports on Wednesday emerged of the Hammers expressing an interest in signing the 24-year-old Brazilian international, who has previously been linked with Arsenal and Newcastle United, David Moyes confirmed that the club had launched a bid to sign the 33-time Brazil international.
However, football.london understands that the Ligue 1 side have rejected the Hammers’ bid of £33.8m to sign Paqueta in their bid to bolster their midfield ahead of the window closing next Thursday night.

In a press conference where Moyes was very open about the club’s ambitions in the transfer window, he also confirmed that the club have put in an improved bid to sign Club Brugge’s Hans Vanaken.
The Hammers are also currently interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, as well as also being linked with interest in Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
So far, the Irons have spent around £125m on seven summer signings, the latest of those being left-back Emerson from Chelsea. However, due to being signed midway through the tie, he is ineligible to play in tonight’s Europa Conference League play-off qualifying round second leg against Danish side Viborg. He could however make his debut against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.
