West Ham United suffered defeat for a third consecutive Premier League match after losing 3-0 to Premier League leaders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Second-half goals from Nathan Ake, Erling Haaland, who became the first player in Premier League history to score 35 goals in a season and Phil Foden sealed three points for Pep Guardiola's side.
Here is how football.london’s West Ham United writer Jonty Colman rated the Hammers’ players against the Sky Blues.

Lukasz Fabianski
Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski could not really be blamed for any of the three goals that he was unable to stop from Ake, Haaland and Foden. Made a couple of big saves in the first half to keep out Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish, although seeing Rodri's solo run and shot denied only by the post was a reprieve. City did get a way past him early in the second half, with Ake nodding in Mahrez's free-kick unmarked from close range. The second from Haaland saw him race on goal on the counter and although Fabianski raced out, he could not keep out Haaland. The third was a volley from Foden from range, but a deflection from Emerson took it away from him. Made a good low save to deny Foden making it 4-0 late on. 6
Thilo Kehrer
A combination of an illness to Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma's ankle injury saw Thilo Kehrer get a start on the right side of a back three. Made a few important clearances to cut the ball out in the first half, with Grealish trying to cause problems down his side. Although West Ham conceded three times, the back line did not do all that much wrong really. Kehrer denied Haaland scoring earlier in the second half with a good sliding challenge, although he was not in the right position to stop Haaland's run when he did make it 2-0. Not the worst of showings from Kehrer. 6
Angelo Ogbonna (Star man)
Anchoring the defence was Italian defender Angelo Ogbonna, the man bought on for Zouma against Palace on Saturday. In the first half, Ogbonna was excellent, making seven of West Ham's clearances and on a couple of occasions, managing to get the bottom of Premier League top scorer Erling Haaland. Found himself on his own trying to mark at least three City players at a free-kick, with Ake being one of them as he headed in his first league goal of the campaign. Similarly to Fabianski, had a great first half and was not really at fault for any of the goals. His influence was less highlighted in the second half, but he still helped to do what he could to nullify City from scoring more. 7
Aaron Cresswell
Completing the makeshift backline was Aaron Cresswell and while it was not a surprise he started, it probably would not have been expected that he would have as captain, or as a left-sided centre-back. In a central role, West Ham had an experienced trio, and even though Cresswell was not in his best role as left-back, he made plenty of early defensive interventions. City were able to run at the back line more in the second half and Cresswell was unable to do enough to keep City quiet. 6
Vladimir Coufal
Moved to a right wing-back role, Vladimir Coufal was still forced largely to defend, with City dominating the ball from minute one. When he did get the ball forward, he did try to set moves for Jarrod Bowen to attack down the right, and a quick throw-in in the first half led to Bowen forcing a save out of Premier League debutant Stefan Ortega. Having made a number of clearances and made umpteen interventions at the back, shortly after making a cross on the hour mark, he quickly signalled to the bench to be replaced, knowing he could no longer continue. 7
Flynn Downes
With Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek both ill, Flynn Downes was handed just a fifth Premier League start, four of which have come away from home against 'big six' sides. Made a few solid challenges in the first half and connected well with Jarrod Bowen at times. A blow in the second half as his foul on Jack Grealish gave City the free-kick in which Ake headed in the opening goal from. Did okay, but his lack of forward passing at times frustrated manager Moyes at times. 5
Lucas Paqueta
A hit-and-miss showing from Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta. At times, excellent, caused problems for City's talented midfield with fancy tricks, good strength and clever passing. At times, however, frustrating in the sense that he did not hold on to the ball well enough or pick the right option on it. A mixed showing, to step up in Rice's absence. At times he did, others, less so. Forced a rare save out of Ortega late on. 6
Emerson
After being pulled off at half-time against Palace at half-time, it was perhaps a surprise that Emerson kept his place in the side, although moved to a left wing-back due to the defensive reshuffle. Played very high up, a mix between a wing-back and wide midfielder. At times, showed quality, but also lacked that cutting edge needed to split open City and cause problems. Foden's volley to make it 3-0 deflected in off his back. 6
Jarrod Bowen
Jarrod Bowen is now the only West Ham player to start every Premier League match this season for West Ham. Comfortably West Ham's best, and often, only threat of note going forward, causing problems with his running and dribbling. Had the only chance for West Ham in the first half when latching onto a Coufal throw and driving the ball at Ortega. Less effective in the second half, but battled throughout. 6
Michail Antonio
Michail Antonio had very little service but battled, showed signs of optimism and gained yards running on the ball to start moves. Much better suited to this lone striker role in games like this and linked up well at times too. Taken off for Ings midway through the second half, and the effect of his absence showed minutes later. 6
Pablo Fornals
As always, Pablo Fornals' commitment could not be faulted, but his lack of end product and often, decision-making, could be. Tried to lob Ortega from 60 yards and struggled to get the ball off the ground and he did have one late chance blocked, but with more composure, could have picked out a better target for Ortega's goal. Worked hard, but lacked quality. 5
Substitutes
Ben Johnson
Having struggled to even make the matchday squad recently, right-back Ben Johnson was bought on with just under 30 minutes remaining when Coufal was forced off injured. Struggled to deal with Grealish and was caught out of position for Haaland's goal, although he showed promise going forward. 5
Danny Ings
Midway through the second half, Danny Ings was bought on in place of Antonio, hoping to add to his Premier League tally, having not scored since the end of February in the Premier League. Shortly after coming on, he lost the ball in a good spell for West Ham, with City countering and Haaland finishing in devastating circumstances. 4
Said Benrahma
With just over ten minutes remaining in the game, Algerian winger Said Benrahma was introduced, although West Ham were 2-0 down before he came on. 5
