David Moyes is seemingly confident Michail Antonio can get back to his best form again following a difficult spell in front of goal.
The frontman had an impressive start to this season's Premier League, but has struggled lately, finding the net on just two occasions in the last 17 games.
Nevertheless, Moyes is happy with how Antonio is performing and believes that he will turn things around in the coming weeks.
Speaking ahead of this weekend's game with Wolves, Moyes said: "Well, I think the I think the people who would be best to mention are the boys who have been the prolific goal scorers over the years, you know, the top centre-forwards Lineker, Shearer, the Wayne Rooney's of this world.
"There'll be times that they get through difficult periods and I think the bits you get from them are keep doing the right things, keep getting in the right places, make sure you get into miss rather than don't get chances.
"So they are the messages we're passing on to Mich, keep getting in the right positions, keep getting in and hoping that one's gonna break for you off the goalkeeper and you get a goal and I that's the the moment we're looking for for Mich.
"But more importantly Mich is a really good all round team player for us and I think we're trying to get him back to that level again, because when Mich plays well he really affects the team and helps the team play better."
Antonio's heatmap in the Hammers' recent 1-1 draw with Newcastle suggested that he was drifting out to the left-wing to get in the right position to score, but Moyes has insisted that he wants the Jamaica international to stay central.
"I think the heat maps are sometimes not correct as a particularly great sort of guide, but I take the point and I don't say that it's not because to be fair, if you're going on heat maps, very rarely are you going to be in the opposition's box, you know can only be in it a certain amount of time. So I see that as being a little bit not quite correct. But generally we do want him to be in the box more and we want him to be more central.
"But I think just at the moment that little bit of rhythm we talked about we have not found and a big part of that is how Mich does and how Mich plays we need Mich to play well to to make that all come together."
Despite Antonio's slight dip in form, West Ham are still in a decent position heading into the business end of the season.
The Hammers currently occupy sixth position in the league and are still competing in the Europa League and the FA Cup. If Antonio can get firing again, they may well be in a good position to challenge in those respective tournaments.
