Indian airlines have cancelled around 26,000 international flights until July 20 due to airspace restrictions triggered by the US-Iran conflict, the government informed Parliament on Thursday.
Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha, said the conflict has caused widespread disruptions to international flight operations, leading to cancellations, diversions and delays. The crisis, which began in late February, has also increased operational costs for airlines because of longer flight routes and higher fuel consumption.
