It’s Monday 25th May and Memorial Day has arrived, bringing with it some of the biggest mattress sales of the year so far. That includes memory foam mattresses from just $47 at Walmart — we've been scouring the sales and that might be the cheapest bed online right now.

In 2026 many of us are looking to save money, making events like the Memorial Day mattress sales crucial if you want to find better sleep for less. We’re seeing savings from many of the best mattresses we’ve tested, including the value picks we’re focusing on here.

So what makes a good value mattress deal? It's not just about a low price tag, as these beds have to deliver a performance to justify every dollar spent. The DreamCloud Classic, from $349 at DreamCloud, is one of our long-running picks for sheer value because it pairs great support with a mid-range price tag and an airy, breathable build.

But we'll also be keeping a close eye on deals from Amazon, Walmart and other retailers. These tend to be volatile sales, here one minute and gone the next, so if you see a price you like, don’t delay.

Memorial Day mattress sales 2026: Live

Hi, I'm Eve and welcome to our live Memorial Day mattress sales coverage!

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Memorial Day mattress sales, where we're focusing on the mid-range marvels that we think are worth every cent of your hard-earned cash.

I'm Eve, a sleep tech writer and mattress tester. I've helped test some of the best value mattresses on the market. If you're looking to make your money go further this Memorial Day, I'm here to guide you towards this years genuinely good deals.

Mattress price tiers, explained

First things first, let's make sure we're all on the same page. We're talking about mid-range mattresses, but what puts a mattress on that level?

Put simply,

If a mattress is less than $500 for a queen, it is considered cheap.

Between $500 and $1000 for a queen is mid-range.

More than $1,000 for a queen is premium.

We'll be keeping an eye out for those $500 to $1,000 queen price tags here.

The cooling mattress I'm sleeping on this heatwave

It's only right that I start with the mattress I'll be sleeping on tonight: The Brooklyn Bedding Copperflex Memory Foam Mattress.

I'm still in the early days of testing this cooling memory foam mattress and I'll have a full review published soon (keep an eye out, hot sleepers), but so far, so good.

Granted, it's not quite as cool to touch as the Copperflex Pro Hybrid Mattress, but it's not noticeably stuffy. In fact, it's buoyant surface has helped me sleep well as temperatures have crept up; though the real tests starts this weekend as we've been hit with a heatwave here in the UK.

Amazon picks

Amazon is becoming a great retailer for great value mattresses. You can find all the best Amazon mattresses in our carefully-selected guide. Otherwise, here's one of our favorite deals of the weekend so far...

Simply unbeatable value at DreamCloud

If there's one mattress we recommend for sheer value for money, it's the DreamCloud Classic.

Over the past year we’ve put the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress through our updated rigorous mattress testing methodology and, honestly, there wasn’t one member on our review panel who wasn’t blown away by the quality this mattress offers at such a great price point.

Every inch of the mattress is remarkably supportive, it cushions pressure points, and remains temperature neutral through the night. These qualities make it our second-highest scoring mattress overall — a remarkable achievement given it costs $1,000 less than the top scoring Saatva Classic mattress.

There’s no doubt that this mid-range innerspring hybrid is the best mattress in a box our mattress testers have slept on. And you can get a queen size for just $649 at DreamCloud this Memorial Day.

What does mid-range mean?

I briefly mentioned mattress price tiers earlier, but let's take a closer look at what you can expect to get for your money at each level. Here goes...

When talking about mattress prices we refer to them in tiers;

Cheap = a mattress that costs under $500 for a queen
Mid-range = a mattress that costs between $500 and $1,000 for a queen

Anything above this is classified as a premium purchase. So what do you get for your money when shopping for a mid-range mattress? A well-selected mid-range mattress should be durable, comfortable, supportive and, in certain cases, even a little bit luxurious.

Like the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid, $649 for a queen in the Memorial Day mattress sales, which boasts a high-end hybrid design that competes with some of the best luxury mattresses we’ve tested.

A mattress in this price category also means better materials than you would get from a cheaper mattress. Like the Awara Classic, a GOTS and GOLS certified organic mattress made from natural latex and New Zealand wool.

Mattresses that cost under $1,000 for a queen could even target specific sleep issues or position, like the Brooklyn Bedding Copperflex Pro, a specialist cooling mattress that just scrapes into this price category, thanks to a 30% off deal.

In short, a mid-range mattress can stretch your money further.

DreamCloud alternatives from Brooklyn Bedding and Awara

I'm sure I've made this clear already, the DreamCloud is a well-round, top-performing mattress but if you want a mid-tier mattress with a) a little more cooling, or b) better eco-credentials, check out the deals below...

Get heatwave ready

If the heat has started stealing your sleep, it's worth considering investing in one of this year's best cooling mattresses to see you through the rest of summer and beyond (sleeping cool is recommended all year round, you see).

Wondering where to start? Here's what to look for in a cooling bed...

  • Breathability: Mattresses built with pocketed coils, perforated foams, and open-cell fabrics like cotton allow air to freely flow through the bed, preventing heat and moisture build up that can make you sweaty during the night.
  • Specialist cooling materials: From copper foams to Phase Change Materials and GlacioTex , there are now plenty of clever, science-backed mattress materials that help conduct heat away from your body in bed.
  • Smart cooling tech: If you really want to up the ante on your in-bed cooling, you can invest in smart beds, like the Eight Sleep Pod , with AI-powered hydro or air climate control systems that keep you at the exact ideal temperature for sleeping all night long.

Tip: A cooling mattress will only be as cool as the bedding you dress it with, a wise mattress manufacturer once told me. So, be sure to check out our recommended cooling pillow, cooling bedsheets, and cooling mattress protectors, too.

This one is for the side sleepers out there

(Image credit: 3Z for Tom's Guide)

The most popular (and best) sleep position according to experts deserves to get some attention. If you're a side sleeper looking for value this Memorial Day, look no further than the Helix Midnight Mattress.

It's a step down from our absolute best mattress for side sleepers (the Helix Midnight Luxe mattress); yet it still "delivers dreamy comfort and excellent support," says our Helix Midnight mattress reviewer, Jennifer Nelson.

Right now, you can shop a queen Helix Midnight Mattress for $1,079.43 (was $1,478.66) by using our semi-exclusive code TOMS27 at Helix. Yes it's slightly outside the mid-range tier, but still worth a spotlight in my opinion.

How long should a mid-range mattress last?

Despite being good value, mid-range mattresses aren’t necessarily cheap. Therefore, you expect them to last for a good while. The good news is — they usually do.

Buying a mattress should only be something you do every seven to ten years. That’s typically how long mattresses last if you get one of good quality. But the exact lifespan often depends on the specific construction of the bed, how heavily it is used, and whether you practice proper mattress care.

With said care (regular mattress cleaning and rotating) a mid-range bed should hit seven years no problem, even if you sleep on it every night.

Meanwhile, cheaper beds (under $300 for a queen) made with less sturdy foams may deteriorate earlier; and premium beds built with more durable materials (uh-hum latex) can prolong that lifespan, lasting up to 20 years without losing support or comfort.

Who doesn't love a list? Before I head off, I'm dropping six quick links to the best value mattress sales from some of our favourite brands here on Tom's Guide's sleep desk...

Happy shopping!

It's time for me to say goodbye for now

My time here may be up, but the deals, shopping advice, and sleep tips aren’t over yet. In fact they’re just getting started. I’m handing you over to my wonderful colleague, Becky George, who will be guiding you through the next few hours of mattress sales shopping.

I'll be back tomorrow ready for another day of mattress fun!

Heyyy everyone!

It's Becky George this side, and I'll be taking over the hub for the next few hours. Expect some major sleep savings, mattress shopping advice and more. Let's get started then!

Excellent value mattress-in-a-box all-year round

Firm-bed fan? If you're someone looking for a mid-range mattress on the firmer side, I've got you.

In my Nectar Classic Memory Foam mattress review, I talk in detail about its responsive comfort and unmatched edge support (which earned a solid 5 out of 5 in our tests), which worked well for my combination sleeping style (side and back).

Based on our objective tests in our Sleep Lab, our testing panel concluded that it's ideal for back sleepers (rating 7.5 on the firmness scale) and couples, thanks to good scores in motion isolation (the ability to stop movements transferring from one side of the bed to another).

At $649 for a queen throughout the year (you can ignore the 'total price value' on the website), along with a one-year sleep trial, lifetime warranty and free shipping, it's one of the top value beds I've tested.

Shop: Nectar Classic Memory Foam Mattress

"The mattress with the most bang for your buck"

In need of a cheaper dupe to the Nectar Classic? My top recommendation is none other than our best cheap mattress: the Siena 10" Memory Foam.

Similar to the Nectar Classic Memory Foam, this also features a highly supportive build, which, according to our testing panel, is ideal for back and stomach sleepers. In our temperature regulation test, it proved to have minimal heat build-up, getting a decent score considering the price and the all-foam build.

This is what Ruth Jones, our lead-tester of the Siena Signature Memory Foam Mattress, has to say:

"The Siena Signature Mattress is best for shoppers looking to replace an old mattress on a small budget. The foams deliver a high-quality feel at a low price, which is why we awarded it strong marks for value."

While the lowest price we've tracked for the Siena Signature is $244 for a queen (Black Friday 2025), the current MSRP of $294 is still a good deal worth taking advantage of. Plus, you get a 180-night sleep trial, 10-year warranty and free shipping.

Is buying a mattress from Amazon a good idea?

I know that Amazon has grown into an easy-to-navigate online store for everything, including mattresses. Answer to the above question? It depends.

You can find lots of great mattresses from reputable brands on Amazon, from Helix to Casper, along with some ultra-affordable gems (such as the EGOHOME Eve posted earlier).

However, there's also a lot of...um...iffy mattresses for too-good-to-be-true prices. To avoid buying a dubious bed-in-a-box on price alone, here are some quick tips on how to buy a good-quality mattress from Amazon:

  • Make sure it's at least 10" in height : A mattress thickness of 10" is the minimum height requirement for supporting most adult sleepers.
  • Make sure the foam has a CertiPUR-US certification : This means the foams in the mattress meet certain minimum health and environmental standards.
  • Look up the warranty and returns policy : These policies are less clear-cut on third-party websites than they are on brand websites, so contact customer services if you're unsure and read our guide on how to return a mattress to Amazon .

Where did the time go?

All that deals hunting has made me hungry, so I'm going to grab some dinner now. But first, here's some shopping advice I'm leaving you all with:

Always look for the mattress sleep trial.

Sleep trials are an at-home testing period, giving you time to break a mattress in and see if it actually works for your sleep needs (no, 10 minutes lying down in-store isn't enough to get to grips with comfort and support).

The industry standard is 100 nights, but the best sleep trials run for a full year. That means you can test the mattress in spring, summer, fall and winter so you know how it copes with everything you can throw at it. So while you go for budget-friendly beds, make sure to check the brand's sleep trial policy.

With that, I say goodbye. We'll be back tomorrow with more such shopping advice, exciting mattress deals, discounts and sleep tips!

And we're back for more!

Good morning and welcome back to our Memorial Day mattress sales live coverage, where we'll be hitting you up with all the best deals and shopping advice to help you get set up with a brand new bed at the perfect price.

I'm Jim McCauley, I've been writing about mattresses for the past five years, and I know more than a thing or two about mattress sales, so this isn't my first rodeo. But if you're unsure about what sort of what sort of mattress you should be looking for and how much you should pay for it, I can help.

I'm going to take a quick scout around for new savings, but for now here's a sweet deal for side sleepers in search of a complete adjustable bed. Catch you in a bit!

Side sleeper? Feeling the heat? Don't miss this increased Casper discount!

It's always tempting during a major sales period like Memorial Day to hang on until the day itself to buy. While most mattress brands have had their sales up and running for a couple of weeks, there's always that little sneaking suspicion that they might have a slightly better last-minute deal up their sleeves.

I've been covering the sales for quite a while and I can tell you that for the most part, the price you'll pay a week before the big day is going to be the same you'll pay on the day itself, But there are exceptions, and that's why the first sleep brand I checked out this morning is Casper.

Casper has form for dropping additional flash discounts for last-minute shoppers, and it's delivering right now. When I looked a couple of days ago it was offering up to 30% off, but now there's up to 35% off, and that 35% discount is on its two cooling mattresses: the Snow and the Snow Max.

If, like me, you're currently losing sleep in a heatwave and you generally sleep on your side, the side-sleeper friendly Snow is a great option to shop right now. Here's what you need to know:

Heatwave keeping you awake? More cooling mattress deals for you

I imagine that more than a few of you are struggling to wake up this morning after failing to sleep well during a heatwave. I feel your pain, and having mentioned the Casper Snow just now, I think I should probably alert you to some other great deals on the best cooling mattresses. So let's do a list!

What types of mattress are there?

It's been a delight but now I must vacate the live blog and leave you in the capable hands of our managing editor (and a certified sleep science coach too), Claire Davies. But before I go, here's a little something for anyone who's heard that Memorial Day is a good time to buy a new mattress, but didn't realize there were so many types of mattress these days and is feeling a little lost right now.

I've learned more than I ever wanted to know about mattresses these past few years, but I can still remember going to an out-of-town store to buy a new bed and self-consciously bouncing up and down on a few likely-looking candidates before picking the most decent-seeming one at an agreeable price, not even thinking about what it was made of.

Things have changed since then, though, and if you're buying a new mattress online for the first time, you might be confused by all the new mattress terminology going around and what it means for you.

That's where we can help. We've put together a guide that explains all the different types of mattress and who they're best suited to, as well as outlining what's changed in the world of mattresses since you bought your last one. Take a look and you'll feel much better prepared to order with confidence.

Hello folks!

It's Becky back again today, with my cold coffee on the side (it IS warm) ready to take over the hub for the next few hours. I'll be back shortly after a quick scan of the latest mattress deals and juicy offers. So sit back, relax and shop away!

Saatva Classic: Cloud-like support and cooling comfort

Let's kickstart things with our best mattress of the year. If you're after luxury comfort, exceptional pressure relief and cooling properties comparable to the best cooling mattresses we've tested so far, the Saatva Classic is the one we'd recommend.

This is what our lead tester (and a certified sleep coach), Claire Davies, a chronic hot sleeper, said about the Saatva Classic:

"The Saatva is the only mattress I’ve tested that has felt consistently cool through the night — no hot spots, no pooling of body heat. Just a gloriously cool-touch surface.”

Plus, the current $400 off discount in Saatva's Memorial Day sale matches the brand's Black Friday deal, which means you don't have to worry about missing out on a better price later.

Looking for a low-cost bed under $200 for a queen? Here's an Amazon deal which caught my eye. Bear in mind that you cannot expect the quality and comfort of the best mattresses in our guide, but it will be a good choice for your guest room or temporary sleep setup.

A space-saving deal from Saatva

We already talked about a temporary sleep setup. This deal is for those of you without room for a full-sized bed or who simply prefer to keep things minimal, but still luxurious!

A Murphy bed can be the ideal space-saving solution in this case. But if the idea of a Murphy bed conjures up a mental image of uncomfortable, second-rate mattresses, the good news is that Saatva produces its own Murphy bed mattress.

That means you can enjoy Saatva luxury every night, then fold your bed away during the day. We looked into Saatva's Murphy bed mattress last year and concluded that it would be a comfy yet durable mattress for anyone without the space for a permanent bed frame.

And right now in Saatva's Memorial Day sale, you can get $400 off the Saatva Murphy bed mattress in a full or queen size (at $899, the twin size doesn't qualify for our deal).

That's a lot of mattress talk. But you know, the Memorial Day mattress sale is also a great chance to grab some of the best pillows on the market at incredible prices.

Since we're currently battling a heatwave, here's the top cooling pillow for hot sleepers, on sale right now.

Life's too short for a basic bed

Changing your sheets can instantly elevate the look and feel of your bed. While our best bed sheets guide can help you find the right match, I did a quick search to find out the great value deals to shop now on Amazon:

The one type of pillow I'd buy this Memorial Day

Just like the best organic mattresses, there are pillows too that are crafted using latex, one of the most naturally cooling materials available.

However, while it is highly popular in both the bedding and mattress world for its responsive support and excellent cooling properties (hot-sleeper alert), the material is also known for being pricier than your memory foam or other synthetics.

This is why you should waste no time in snapping up a latex pillow deal this Memorial Day:

Tempur-Pedic is a brand known for its pillows and mattresses, delivering targeted pressure relief and comfort.

Coming from someone who keeps my eyes peeled for good bedding discounts out there, spotting a Tempur-Pedic pillow deal is big (as they are quite unpredictable).

Aside from their regular bundle savings, right now you get two Tempur-Pedic pillows for the price of one in their limited-time Buy One Get One sale at Tempur-Pedic.

My top recommendations would be the extra firm Tempur-Neck for side and back sleepers who need extra comfort, and the Tempur Cloud, approved by our stomach-sleeping-tester!

Handing it over!

The time has come for me to pass on the baton to Eve Davies, sleep tech expert and mattress tester, who will see you through the next few hours of incredible mattress shopping advice and sleep tips.

But before I go, here's a roundup of the top bed deals once again:

See you soon folks, happy shopping!

Hello, mattress shoppers

Eve here, refreshed and ready for another stint of deals hunting. After some epic bedding deals from Becky, I'll be bringing you some sleep tech savings and don't worry of you haven't found the right bed for you yet, there's more mattress talk on way.

Bare with me while I do my first lap of today's sales...

As Tom’s Guide’s dedicated sleep tech reviewer, it’s only right that I start with a gadget and it’s none other than the Apple Watch Series 10.

You may think it’s so-2024 now the Series 11 is here. But the previous generation actually offers more-or-less identical sleep tracking functionality to the newer series at a fraction of the cost

Sleep tracking updates between the Series 10 and Series 11 (hello, Apple sleep score) were largely software based. So, providing your Apple Watch 10 runs on on watchOS 26, you'll have access to all sleep metrics Apple offers.

Let’s get to the deal in question...

Hot sleepers and heatwave victims, listen up!

I'm this excited about the current Bear deal (Image credit: Future)

As with so many household items, mattress prices are rising in the current economic climate, with tariffs and general rising costs pushing up those price tags. Yet remarkably, Bear has bucked the trend.

Indeed, our top-rated cooling mattress of the year, the Bear Elite Hybrid is now at its all-time lowest price. Grab a queen size for $1,370.40 (was $2,284) when you use our code TOMS40 at the Bear checkout.

What makes the Bear Elite the coolest bed? I’m glad you asked. It is mainly down to its Celliant technology. This is a synthetic fiber that cleverly transfers body heat into energy that boosts your physical recovery.

I’ll admit I was sceptical, but have enjoyed many a cool night’s sleep on the Bear Elite, even though the summertime without air con. Plus, under our rigorous thermal mattress tests, it showed the fastest cooling rate, shedding 1.82°F per minute.

Read our full Bear Hybrid Mattress review here.

It’s Sunday and that means my partner slept like a congested walrus last night (alcohol is known to worsen snoring and he’s a fiend for a Saturday afternoon pint or two). But thanks to my trusty Ozlo Sleepbuds, I slept peacefully through the night.

As some of the best sleep headphones, the Ozlo Sleepbuds sit comfortably in your ears, are excellent at blocking noise, and loaded with plenty of sleep sounds to drown out your snoring partner or noisy neighbours. Grab ‘em while you can.

Next up: Walmart deals.

Spotted! A Cal king mattress down to $354

The Allswell Hybrid Mattress is outstanding value at Walmart this Memorial Day with king and Cal king sizes down to $364 and $354 respectively (not a typo, the Cal king is unexpectedly cheaper).

  • 4 stars from our stingy review team
  • Exceptional support for stomach sleepers
  • A cool sleep surface
  • Minimal motion transfer
  • A bed size that allows you to get as far away as possible from your partner through the night

Need I say more? For all the deets, head to our full Allswell Hybrid Mattress review.

Do note, however, the queen size misses out on this deal. If it’s a queen you need, check out the Siena Signature mattress at $249 at Siena.

Cheerio for now

It’s been a short and sweet deal hunt from me today, but my team and I have got a lot up our sleeves for the big day tomorrow.

Now I’m off for a big feed and solid night’s sleep so I’m ready for the action. But before I go, here’s exactly which bed I’d buy with a $500, $1,000, and $2,000 budget.

$500: As a combi sleeper who spends most time on my side it would have to be the Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress (queen $329 at Amazon)

$1,000: An occasional warm sleeper, I’m confident the Brooklyn Bedding Copperflex Pro Hybrid Mattress would keep hot flashes at bay (queen $932 at Brooklyn Bedding)

$2,000: Unbeaten across our mattress tests, it’s got to be the Saatva Classic Mattress — and I’m sure Tom’s Guide whole review panel would agree (queen $1,779 at Saatva)

In the meantime, I’m handing you over to my colleague, Lauren Jeffries, who's got a beady eye for a great mattress deal...

Good afternoon lovely shoppers!

Hello and welcome back to our live hub, where we're tracking the Memorial Day mattress sales as they drop, finding you the best deals and discounts we can.

I'm Lauren, and I'll be with you for the next few hours sharing everything I've learned about sleep, my go-to accessories I need to sleep well, and the mattresses I recommend for every type of sleeper.

I'll be back soon with my first find, so watch this space.

A deal that'll keep you cool at night

My bedroom gets impossibly hot in the summer. It's hell. Falling asleep feels impossible, and if I do eventually drop off, I wake up a lot in the night.

In order to fall asleep and stay asleep, our core body temperature has to drop. And that can't happen if your room is too warm.

But one easy and surprisingly effective fix I tried was placing a misting fan on my bedside table. Immediately, it felt like I'd created my own air con. And I've just found an excellent deal, so you can try it for yourself:

With Memorial Day now just one day away, the deals are really ramping up. But how can you tell if a cheap mattress is actually worth buying? Look out for these three main signs:

  • It comes with at least a 10-year warranty and a 30-day sleep trial
  • It is at least 10" tall
  • It has both a support core and comfort layers

Without this, it's unlikely your mattress will be high-quality enough to last 8+ years (the minimum lifespan of a mattress).

While it may look like a great deal, you'll likely have to replace the mattress in a few years time, meaning you'll ultimately spend more than if you had just invested in a high-quality mattress to start with.

I'm going to look out for some genuinely fantastic value mattress deals. I'll be back soon.

A queen mattress for $204.99!

A queen 12" Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam mattress is $204.99 (was $239.99) at Amazon. That's a genuinely impressive price, and it's a fantastic value mattress.

When we reviewed the Zinus Green Tea mattress, we were impressed by how comfortable it was for side sleepers. The memory foam layers cushion pressure points like the shoulders, hips and knees while also absorbing a lot of motion. This makes it a great choice for couples, too.

Our reviewer did find that the mattress trapped a little heat, so if you sleep hot naturally, you might want to opt for a mattress with more airflow or cooling abilities, like the DreamCloud Classic, which is currently $649 for a queen at DreamCloud Sleep.

I've found another fantastic value mattress on Amazon

One of the best cheap mattresses we've tested is currently 45% off. A queen EGOHOME Black 12" Mattress is now $369.99 (was $769) at Amazon.

A queen for under $400 is a great deal, and when we reviewed the EGOHOME Black 12" Mattress, we were impressed. The hybrid design allows plenty of air to flow through the mattress, making it great for temperature regulation.

It's got a medium-firm feel, which might feel a little hard for lighter-weight sleepers, but offers great support for side sleepers.

You can buy directly from the website, but the price goes up to $399.99 for a queen at EGOHOME. However, you will then get the perks of a 10-year warranty and 100-night sleep trial.

Goodbye for now!

I hope you've enjoyed some of the tips and tricks and fantastic deals I've provided you with, but it's time for us to take a break now.

We'll be back with loads more from the Memorial Day mattress sales, so you won't miss a thing. Remember to keep checking back here for the latest coverage. We won't be long! `

We're back and ready to save!

I'm Ruth Jones, Senior Sleep writer at Tom's Guide, and I'm here to see you through the next few hours of the Memorial Day mattress sales. I'm focusing on the value deals; the mattresses that deliver the most bang for your buck.

Amazon and Walmart are often the best starting places for a low-cost bed but these tend to be short-lived deals, here one minute and gone the next. That means your favorite mattress deal might not stick around for long. So let's take a look and see what's changed over night...

Is this the cheapest bed online?

Okay, I've had a good look around and I think I might have done it. I might have found the cheapest mattress you can buy today.

Walmart is selling a 6-inch twin memory foam mattress for just $47.99 right now in the clearance sale, and I haven't spotted any better deals than that. This mattress is designed for children and the memory foam feel should provide cushioning for your little one.

At this price tag it's unlikely to have much durability but let's be honest — does anything for children ever last long? If your kid's mattress has been through the wringer, this is a low cost upgrade that still leaves money in your pocket to enjoy the holiday sunshine.

I've covered the cheapest so it's time for the most expensive. The Grand Vividus mattress is a luxury handcrafted bed that...

No, I'm kidding. Now I'm going to focus on the best mattress for sheer value and for me, that has to be the DreamCloud Classic. It's the best mattress in a box we've tested and it's only $649 for a queen in the DreamCloud mattress sales.

The DreamCloud is a favorite mattress for side sleepers because not only does it have excellent support from head-to-toe, but it yields to the shoulders and hips to prevent pressure build-up. It also has a little touch of luxury, so you can drift off knowing you've invested in quality.

Savings abound this Memorial Day but if you want to cut through the noise and find the best you can buy, these are my top three mattress deals for excellent value:

Check the price, not the discount

Many sleep brands offer flashy sounding price cuts with 50%, 60%, $1,000+ off. And if you want a value mattress, it's easy to fall into the trap of 'look at how big that saving is' and end up splashing out on a bed that isn't worth it.

Mattress sales run year-round and many of these 'big discounts' are all sizzle, no steak. In other words, they're price drops that are advertised continuously and don't reflect an actual saving.

This is my third-year covering the Memorial Day mattress sales (with plenty of other deal days in-between) and if there's one thing I've learned it's that it's the final price you need to pay attention to. So pick a budget, decide what you want from a mattress and ignore the fireworks.

I don't know about you but I'm melting in the heat this Memorial Day and I'm already predicting a night spent tossing and turning as I look for a non-existent cool spot.

Your bedding choices can make a big difference in how breathable your bed is, so I asked expert Becky George how to pick sheets and pillows that won't turn your bed into a heat trap:

"Cooling mattresses are packed with actively heat-dissipating elements, such as Glaciotex and phase change materials and while cooling bedding is not crafted the same way as mattresses, there are a few things you should look out for:

  • Material: Look for naturally breathable, plant-derived fabrics when shopping for sheets and blankets. Examples include pure cotton, Tencel Lyocell (from eucalyptus fibers), and bamboo.
  • Thread count: While a high thread count is often seen as the epitome of luxury, less thread per inch can actually be more breathable. A lower thread count between 180 and 300 is suitable for summer.
  • Reviews: Reading reviews will help you understand whether a bedding product is actually cooling or just claims to be. Our best bed sheets guide details the breathability of each product we test based on our experience.

That's all from me

The time's flown by and I'll be heading out now but don't worry, there's still plenty of deals hunting to be done. But before I go I've rounded up my favorite Memorial Day mattress sales below:

Howdy everyone!

I'm Becky, bedding tester and sleep writer. We met briefly yesterday. I'll be taking over from Ruth for the next few hours. So expect trending bedding deals, lovely mattress discounts, shopping advice and more. I'll be back after a quick deals scan, stay tuned!

Sleep cool for less this summer!

So we've talked about the best cooling mattresses, cooling pillows and breathable bed sheets, but there's another layer which can dial down the heating: a humble mattress protector.

Here's the best mattress protector for hot sleepers now upto 30% off for Memorial Day:

I take my beauty sleep seriously. This means yes to the 7:1 rule, but also making sure to use skin-safe bedding and sleep accessories. Here are my top two Amazon finds on sale right now:

Three things I'd buy in Brooklinen Memorial Day bedding sale

Brooklinen is a crowd-favorite bedding brand, and it's no surprise— their products are crafted from premium materials and designed to look chic and elegant draped on the bed.

However, it's definitely a pricier option in the market. The good news is that Brooklinen is back with their 25% off sitewide sale this Memorial Day, and these are my top picks:

I'm outta here for now!

So I'm going to take a short break but you lot are left in the capable hands of our sleep tech expert, Eve Davies. Before I go, here's a quick pillow deals roundup:

Happy shopping everyone!

Hola! I'm back

Eve here, Tom's Guide's sleep tech reviewer (though I cover a lot of mattress content, too). I've spent all morning scanning the Memorial Day sales and have spotted some epic deals, from top cooling mattress down to their lowest price to budget sleep trackers under $95 at Amazon.

I'll be back shortly with my favorite sales of the day...

What's it like to sleep on a latex bed?

This month, I’ve tried something new. No, not a new hobby or exotic food, but a latex mattress. Namely, the new Thermobalance LX Elite mattress on sale from $1,632.40 for a twin (was $2,332) at Brooklyn Bedding this Memorial Day.

As a predominant side sleeper who likes to sink into a mattress slightly rather than sit on top of it, I wasn’t sure the buoyancy offered by latex would be for me. But I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how luxurious and supportive the bed feels.

Over our four-week testing period, my partner and I have found this cooling tech actually helps to regulate your temperature through the night and we've hardly disturbed each other thanks to the bed's ability to absorb movement.

Latex mattresses may be pricey but, more durable than standard hybrids, they promise to last well beyond the usual 10-year mattress lifespan — and Brooklyn Bedding's Thermobalance has not disappointed our testers thus far.

Another great latex deal

On the topic of latex mattresses... where better to invest in a organic, durable bed than the brand behind our best mattress for the third year running. Yes, you guessed, it’s Saatva.

A 5-star-rated sleep tracker under $40

My mission of the morning has been to find the absolute best value sleep tracker for those who want to get sleep insights but can't justify the prices at Apple or Oura. Boy, was I impressed when I came across the MorePro Smart Watch with 50% off at Amazon. Such a discount cuts the price from $79.99 to $39.99.

I was dubious at first, but after delving into the Amazon reviews section, it seems this Apple Watch dupe has a leg to stand on.

All 21 reviewers give it five stars, praising it for its comfort, functionality, and even battery life. One writes: "Sleep tracking runs quietly in the background and provides a clear summary that’s easy to review in the morning."

Another adds: "The watch also records awake, light sleep, and deep sleep periods, helping me better understand my sleep patterns. Through daily and weekly data analysis, I can identify issues like insufficient sleep or irregular routines and gradually make adjustments to improve sleep quality."

Spotted! A new Dreamegg Sunrise Alarm clock with 25% off

My bedroom is fully stocked with sleep gadgets from music-playing sleep masks to world-leading smart mattress covers (uh-hum the Eight Sleep Pod). But the one sleep gadget I swear I can’t sleep without is a humble sunrise alarm clock.

I’ve tested premium models including the #1 rated Hatch Restore 3 and budget picks costing less than $20 like the HomeLabs sunrise alarm clock. Yet the one that’s remained at my bedside this year is the Dreamegg.

Eager to minimize my phone-use in bed, I swapped the Hatch for its dupe a couple of months ago. The Dreamegg sunrise alarm clock wakes you up with simulated sunlight and sends you to sleep with calming sleep sounds, all while looking chic at your bedside.

Time to pass the baton

All this deals hunting is tiring work and I'm certainly looking forward to drifting off upon my Brooklyn Bedding Copperflex Memory Foam mattress tonight. It's sweltering here in the UK, so it's certainly up for a cooling challenge this evening, which I'll report on fully in my upcoming review (keep your eyes peeled).

While it's goodbye from me, I'm handing you over to a familiar face, Lauren Jeffries, who will be around shortly to guide you through the last stint of Memorial Day shopping, brining you only the very best last minute deals.

Good Afternoon on the big day itself!

It's me, Lauren, and I'm back to help you find the next best deal that's going to help you sleep better night after night. From falling asleep fast to sleeping through the night, there are deals out there that are going to improve every bit of your rest.

And I'm determined to find them for you. So I'll be back soon with my favourite new sleep deal as I track them live.

Cool sleep for a cool shopper?

And here it is... my new favorite deal. I bought this blanket myself when I was struggling through a heatwave. I need to use some kind of blanket to feel comfortable and to fall asleep, but everything was trapping heat and making it near impossible to actually sleep.

So, when I invested in this Bedsure cooling blanket, I was pleasantly surprised.
