With the game destined to go to extra-time, Jack Clarke left Jordan Storey for dead on the left wing and pulled the back across the box for Roberts to smash into the back of the net.
Bedlam ensued in the away end as they knew that the goal would likely send them, and their team, to yet another play-off final. Thousands of Black Cats supporters will converge on the capital city next weekend for the final against Wycombe on Saturday, May 21.

No one will need reminding of the club’s record in the play-offs but under Neil’s guidance, there is every chance that they will end all those years of heartache.
