Welcome back to another edition of NFL Power Rankings. This time, we head back to the drawing board after a loaded Week 5 that put some teams over the top while dropping others down a tier. For the Cleveland Browns, however, they were on their bye week with a necessary extra week to prepare for the San Francisco 49ers, who are quickly turning into an absolute buzzsaw to play against.
They have the opportunity to make quite the statement this week against the 49ers. They will need their starting quarterback as the status of Deshaun Watson hangs up in the air, but the Browns match up defensively better than any team the Niners have faced yet this year.
Buy Browns TicketsWhere will the Browns land in this week’s NFL Power Rankings as the AFC shook out favorably around them? Look no further as the Browns have yet to prove themselves as serious contenders, but are doing enough to hang around in the conversation of a team that can make a run.
32
Carolina Panthers (0-5)
The Bryce Young era is off to a rocky start for the only winless team in the NFL.
31
Denver Broncos (1-4)
Aren’t you glad the Browns didn’t trade actual draft capital for this guy?
30
Chicago Bears (1-4)
Justin Fields has found success in back-to-back weeks, but it is going to take a few more weeks to prove the Bears are not the dumpster fire everyone thinks they are.
29
Las Vegas Raiders (2-3)
Aren’t you glad the Browns didn’t hire this guy?
28
New England Patriots (1-4)
Mac Jones stinks and he won’t stop pouting about it.
27
New York Giants (1-4)
The Giants gave Daniel Jones a lot of money this offseason.
26
Washington Commanders (2-3)
From Browns fans everywhere: we want Jacoby!
25
Arizona Cardinals (1-4)
It turns out the Cardinals, led by former Browns quarterback Joshua Dobbs and former quarterbacks coach Drew Petzing, are pretty well-coached.
24
New York Jets (2-3)
You still can’t fool me. I am familiar with your game, Zachary.
23
Minnesota Vikings (1-4)
The best 1-4 team I’ve ever seen.
22
Green Bay Packers (2-3)
Yeah man, Jordan Love isn’t the answer.
21
Tennessee Titans (2-3)
From getting clobbered by the Browns to clobbering the Bengals, to losing to the Colts, we have no idea who the Titans are. But I don’t think they’re very good.
20
Houston Texans (2-3)
The Texans will have their ups and downs. But at the end of the day they are a young team at both the coaching and personnel level that will go through growing pains.
19
Atlanta Falcons (3-2)
The worst 3-2 team to ever have eyes laid upon them.
18
Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2)
The second-worst 3-2 team to ever have eyes laid upon them.
17
Indianapolis Colts (3-2)
The third-worst 3-2 team to ever have eyes laid upon them, but with a mullet and a mustache.
16
Los Angeles Rams (2-3)
A team that is hard to figure out who they are. Which means they are more than likely a middle-of-the-road team.
15
Cincinnati Bengals (2-3)
The Bengals looked back this week, but it was also against the Cardinals. It will take more than one week for perception to shift in Cincinnati.
14
New Orleans Saints (3-2)
The Saints are 3-2, but they’ve played a cupcake schedule to this point.
13
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1)
Play a real opponent that isn’t in your terrible division.
12
Los Angeles Chargers (2-2)
11
Cleveland Browns (2-2)
Will he play or won’t he play? The Browns field an elite defense but will go as far as their offense will take them.
10
Dallas Cowboys (3-2)
The 49ers made light work of the Cowboys. This game should be eye-opening for the Browns this week.
9
Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2)
It was only a matter of time before Jacksonville’s explosive offense woke up.
8
Detroit Lions (4-1)
The Lions are a fun football team, but a win against the winless Panthers does not move the needle.
7
Baltimore Ravens (3-2)
Lamar Jackson would be the MVP frontrunner right now if any of his wide receivers could catch the football.
6
Seattle Seahawks (3-1)
Well-coached, disciplined, and tough, the Seahawks and quarterback Geno Smith were not a flash in the pan.
5
Miami Dolphins (4-1)
The Dolphins have not looked like the world beaters they were against the Broncos over the last two weeks.
4
Buffalo Bills (3-2)
The Bills continue to be the most hot-and-cold team in the league. This week they were cold.
3
Philadelphia Eagles (5-0)
The Eagles are still undefeated and winning close football games. Until the defending NFC champions slip up, they’ll continue to find themselves among the elite.
2
Kansas City Chiefs (4-1)
They keep winning football games despite a lack of talent around Patrick Mahomes. But as long as he is the quarterback, the Chiefs remain a powerhouse.
1
San Francisco 49ers (5-0)
The Browns are heading into the teeth of a juggernaut. They have a real chance to insert themselves as legit contenders this week.
