Weather conditions across India are expected to remain unsettled on Saturday, October 10, with rain and thunderstorms forecast in several states even as parts of the country continue to experience above-normal temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in parts of southern India, while Delhi-NCR and several northern states may see showers, gusty winds and changing cloud conditions. Mumbai, meanwhile, is dealing with unusually high October temperatures and deteriorating air quality.
The weather outlook comes as the southwest monsoon retreats from more parts of the country. However, its withdrawal has not brought uniformly dry conditions, with rainfall activity continuing in parts of the south, east and northeast. Residents should check district-level alerts before travelling, particularly in areas prone to heavy rain, lightning or landslides.
