Weak North American Cocoa Demand Hammers Prices

December ICE NY cocoa (CCZ26) closed down -186 (-3.19%) on Friday, and December ICE London cocoa #7 (CAZ26) closed down -141 (-3.23%).

Cocoa prices sold off sharply on Friday on news of weaker-than-expected Q3 North American cocoa demand. The National Confectioners Association reported late Thursday that Q3 North American cocoa grindings unexpectedly fell -2.5% y/y to 109,978 MT, weaker than expectations of no change.
