Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy said that they would force the Union Government to procure paddy from Telangana, and intensify their agitation after Ugadi.
Addressing a public meeting after participating in several development programmes at Uplur village of Kammarpally mandal of Nizamabad district on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy said that the Centre has been creating problems in paddy procurement and acting like a businessman instead of fulfilling its responsibility.
“Union Minister Piyush Goyal has insulted the people of Telangana by asking us to get the people habituated to eat broken rice. Those who humiliated the people of Telangana could not survive like former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, who said that he would not give a single paise to Telangana. The same fate is in store for you,” Mr. Reddy warned the Union Minister, stating they are ready to go to Delhi again to intensify the fight against the Centre’s stand.
Mr. Reddy also dared BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar to fulfil his promise and get orders from the Centre to buy paddy from Telangana. He said that people would not trust the BJP leaders till then.
