Ever since the cat café concept first appeared in Taiwan in the late 90s people have been raving about the soothing effects of enjoying a quiet bite to eat or indulging in a wee tea or coffee in a room filled with affectionate moggies.
And when the Purrple Cat Café in the Trongate first opened in 2017, animal lovers in Glasgow were delighted to be able to try the concept out for themselves.
Owner Tracey Malcolmson had spent a year and a half creating her dream business at 2 Trongate, which has now become a forever home to over 30 adorable rescue cats.
