We simulated Leeds United vs Man City to get a score prediction

Manchester City face a trip to Elland Road on Saturday in the Premier League as they face an in-form Leeds United side.

After their 5-1 win over Watford last week, City remain on top of the Premier League by a single point, with Gabriel Jesus putting in his best performance of the season as he grabbed four goals. A win is a must on Saturday for City with the Reds on their tail, but Pep Guardiola will have one eye on next week's UEFA Champions League second leg tie against Real Madrid.

One of the games of the season saw City claim a 4-3 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of their semi-final tie, and with the second leg on Wednesday, Guardiola may opt to rest a few of his players. Kyle Walker remains a doubt after missing the last few games for City, whilst John Stones looks set to miss out after coming off with an injury against Real Madrid.

So, what line-ups will both teams select and what could the final score be? We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Leeds against Man City on Saturday and this is what happened.

Leeds United vs Man City score predicted by simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn't select a team to control. We then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Leeds could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Meslier; Ayling, Llorente, Cooper, Dallas; Klich, Phillips; Raphinha, Rodrigo, Harrison; James.

We predict that Man City could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Laporte, Zinchenko; Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Gundogan; Jesus, Foden, Grealish.

Neither side started the game on top, with Leeds defending well and maintaining the City attack. Guardiola's side had more possession, but his players were failing to create any major chances with it.

Kevin De Bruyne hit the post in the first half for Man City (EA SPORTS FIFA)

The best chance of the first half fell to Kevin De Bruyne, with the Belgian hitting the post from outside the box 30 minutes in. The well organised Leeds defence limited City to long-range efforts, and when a pocket of space opened up outside the area, De Bruyne took aim.

His effort left the 'keeper beaten, but the ball rattled the outside of the post as City entered the break at 0-0. As the game went on, confidence grew within the Leeds camp, and the home side took a shock lead with 10 minutes remaining.

Rodrigo made it 1-0 to Leeds (EA SPORTS FIFA)

Kalvin Phillips found Rodrigo just inside the box with his back to goal, and the Spaniard did well to hold off Joao Cancelo and turn towards goal. As he caught a glimpse of the net, Rodrigo scuffed his shot towards Ederson, but the 'keeper failed to hold the ball as it travelled underneath his body and into the net.

Two late substitutions saw Guardiola introduce Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva in an attempt to try and turn the game on its head. Silva had an almost instant impact, setting up Phil Foden for the equaliser in the 89th minute.

Silva found Foden charging towards goal with a fantastic through ball, sending the Englishman one-on-one with the 'keeper. Foden took the ball wide, but the 21-year-old drilled a brilliant finish across goal and into the far corner.

FIFA 22 predicted final score: Leeds 1-1 Man City

Here are the full-time match stats.

FT stats from Leeds United 1-1 Manchester City on FIFA 22 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

FIFA 22 predicts that City could struggle away to Leeds United on Saturday, with rotation and a lack of match fitness potentially proving costly. Phil Foden was able to snatch a late point for City, but any points drop could prove hugely costly in the title race.
