MUMBAI: It had not even been 24 hours since he returned from the West Indies tour, via the US. Looking like he’s yet to shake off the jet lag, Rohit Sharma was still groggy-eyed. However, it didn’t take long for the Indian cricket team’s captain to shake off his tiredness and talk about the sport that he loves endlessly.
Describing his Caribbean sojourn, Rohit while talking to the reporters on the sidelines of a La Liga event here on Thursday, said, “It’s like Mumbai there. It rains a lot, anytime there, and the match is curtailed. That’s a bit disappointing, but you can’t complain because in Mumbai, you get this kind of weather. It’s the same there. It’s quite hot, humid. You’ve to grind on the wickets there. It’s not like after getting ‘set’ you can play your shots. You’ve to really keep playing maiden overs one after the other. The grass on the grounds there is ‘wild’ there, so the ball doesn’t really travel on the outfield. You don’t get boundaries easily.”
