New Nottingham Forest summer signing Wayne Hennessey "can't wait to get involved" after completing a transfer from Burnley and believes that it is a "very exciting time" to be arriving at the club.
The Wales international signed a two-year contract at the City Ground this week and is expected to back up Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson this season. Head coach Steve Cooper's goalkeeping department has drastically changed since promotion to the Premier League was secured.
Brice Samba returned to France last week with Ligue 1 side Lens after not signing a new contract earlier this month. United States international Ethan Horvath has also headed out, albeit only on loan to Luton Town for the season, with eyes on the upcoming World Cup in November.

Hennessey brings a wealth of experience with him to the squad, as well as previous experiences of playing against the Reds. “I’ve come up against Forest a lot in the past, and it’s a fantastic club," Hennessey is quoted as saying on the club's official website.
The goalkeeper has lined up against Forest three times, twice for Wolverhampton Wanderers and once while on loan at Yeovil Town, and boasts a 100% record in meetings against the club. A 5-1 win by Wolves over Colin Calderwood's Reds began that run, with Mick McCarthy's side completing the double with a 1-0 win later in the 2008/09 season. Hennessey was also in goal for the 3-1 defeat to Yeovil following their promotion for the 2013/14 Championship campaign.
"There’s a great fanbase, and the atmosphere at The City Ground is up there with the best in the game," the 35-year-old continued. "It’ll be a different level now that we’re back in the Premier League.
“I have also played with and against a few of the Forest players. It’s a very exciting time to come on board, and I can’t wait to get involved and start training here at the Nigel Doughty Academy.”
