Watford warning ahead of Leeds United visit as Lewington focuses on positives

Here are the latest Premier League headlines for Saturday, March 26.

Watford keeping hope

Watford coach Ray Lewington inists there have been positive signs for the Hornets in recent weeks, as they battle against relegation. Roy Hodgson's side host Leeds United on April 9, and Lewington is hoping for a late resurgence.

"It’s a tough one because we’re racing against time, that’s the problem, but we’ve been really encouraged with the boys’ attitude," he said. "The one thing we’ve got to do is try and instill a team with the good individuals that we’ve got. We’ve got to try and mould them into a team and we’ve got to do it very quickly.

“It was very encouraging in the last game against Southampton when we actually looked, probably for the first time since we’ve been here, a real good unit. I thought we played well and really deserved a win against a side who I think are a good Premiership side now. There’s some signs.”

Coleman's Mykolenko message

Everton defender Seamus Coleman admits he cannot imagine how Ukrainian team-mate Vitalii Mykolenko is feeling as he watches Russia's ongoing invasion of his homeland from afar. The 22-year-old Ukraine international joined the Toffees from Dynamo Kiev in January and has found himself looking on helplessly from Merseyside at horrific images of the raging war.

Coleman, currently on international duty with the Republic of Ireland, said: "Myko, he's a fantastic lad. He's a quiet lad, he's a really good lad. You can't even imagine how he's feeling. You're there for him, you try and support him as best you can, you let him know that you're there for him, the club are there for him, but you know his family and all are back there, so it's very difficult for him.

"We're there for him. I'm sure it's hard for him to focus and do his job, but he is, he's coming in training every day and doing what he can. He's got the support of his team-mates, any little support that we can give him."
