Waterloo train station closes for Christmas but will be reopen for New Year's Eve fireworks

Waterloo station will be open for revellers heading into central London for the New Year’s Eve festivities, rail bosses have promised.

The train station, the second busiest in the country, is due to be closed over the Christmas period while Network Rail carries out a £15m track upgrade near Queenstown Road station in Battersea.
