NEW DELHI: Confusion at the toss happens sometimes, but a toss conducted again is a rarity.
It may be noted that the toss is conducted in the Big Bash League not by a coin but by a bat flip. And nowadays the edges of the bats are so thick that the willows can sometimes land on their edges.
That's exactly what happened before the Big Bash League match between Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Tuesday.
The bat was thrown in the air in the presence of the captains Colin Munro of Brisbane Heat and Chris Green of Sydney Thunder and the match referee.
But to the amusement of all present, the bat landed on the edge and the toss had to be conducted again.
The Big Bash League shared the video on their social media handle X.
Former Australian fast bowler, in the BBL studio, said, "That wouldn't have happened in the good old days because the edges weren't that thick," much to the amusement of his co-presenter.
On the second occasion, Sydney Thunder captain Chris Green won the toss and opted to field.
