NEW DELHI: Despite their seven-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans were heartened to see the knock by Dinesh Karthik.

A late blitz by Karthik, who hit an unbeaten 23-ball 53, took RCB to 196/8.
Karthik hit 4 sixes and 5 fours to give RCB something to cheer about after the early dismissal of Virat Kohli.
In a video shared by the official RCB X handle, fans can be seen expressing their heartfelt gratitude towards Karthik.
"We are grateful that Dinesh Karthik plays for RCB," said a fan.
"If this is DK's last season, we don't want it to be his last season," said another fan.
A highlight of Karthik's knock was the four boundaries that he hit towards the third man fence, all in the same over by Akash Madhwal.
Karthik hit four ramp-like scoop shots for four boundaries in the same region.
Clearly impressed with his strokeplay, even Rohit Sharma was heard on the stump mic teasing Karthik: "World Cup ke selection ke liye push karna hai isko shabash, dimaag mein chal raha hai, dimaag mein chal raha hai iske World Cup, World Cup chal raha hai, World Cup".
