Watch: Travis Etienne shows off footwork in workout video

There may not have been a player on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ roster to leave organized team activities with more buzz than running back Travis Etienne. After having a season-ending foot injury last preseason, his return was heavily anticipated, and when he was able to take the field in OTAs, he caught the eyes of both local and national reporters.

While the pads haven’t gone on yet, Etienne impressed many with his versatility and speed during OTAs leaving many exciting to see him when training camp arrives. With the Jags setting their start date at July 24, that’s less than a month away.

Like most players, Etienne has remained busy in the meantime. He’s currently in Dallas working out with fitness trainer and movement/ footwork specialist Josh Hicks, who shared a video of the second-year player on Monday.

In the workout video, Etienne showed off his footwork, agility, and more.

It looks like Etienne is doing fine after the Lisfranc injury he sustained last preseason. He spent much of the time between then in OTAs rehabbing the injury, and there has been nothing but encouraging signs since he’s been 100%.

Etienne will need to be in great shape when he returns for camp as it seems James Robinson won’t be ready for the start of it. That means he’ll likely be the top running back on the depth chart (at least temporarily) after the team invested a first-round pick into him last season.

The Jags also seem interested and seeing what kind of versatility Etienne brings to the offense as he received looks as a receiver during OTAs. He seemed open to that challenge, and whatever else the staff asked of him, so he undoubtedly will be one of the players fans want to watch in person if public spectators are allowed to attend training camp this year.
