Usually, if you want to land one of the most dominant players in a particular draft class, you have to trade up.
In the first round of the 2021 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys managed to pull off the exception to the rule, moving down two spots and still managing to snag do-it-all linebacker Micah Parsons at No. 12 overall.
A dynamic defender with a rare blend of athleticism, versatility and instincts, Parsons was a weekly highlight reel during his first NFL season. Injuries caused the Cowboys to try out the off-ball linebacker as an edge rusher, and it sent Parsons’ impact into another stratosphere, as he racked up 13 sacks on his way to being named the unanimous NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, and a finalist for NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
