The Kansas City Chiefs scaled back the intensity of their Monday morning practice session due to rain that made the playing surface slick on the campus of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph.
Nonetheless, the team managed to put together some impressive highlights from their soggy workouts, which are sure to excite fans from across Chiefs Kingdom.

Though the Chiefs’ defense was clearly playing at half-speed on this play to avoid injuring themselves, McKinnon’s burst and shifty running style was on full display as he weaved his way through Kansas City’s defensive front. McKinnon’s twitchiness has made him a top player in the Chiefs’ offense, and the team is sure to benefit from his dual rushing-receiving skillset in 2023.

Mahomes kept up his exceptional training camp performances with two nearly-identical touchdown passes to rookie receiver Rashee Rice and second-year pass catcher Skyy Moore during Monday’s drills. Again, the defense was moving a step slower than usual in coverage, but these throws would have been impressive even if nobody was covering his receivers downfield.

Wide receiver Nikko Remigio got in on the action during Monday’s workouts as well, catching this pretty pass from Shane Buechele when working with Kansas City’s second-team offense. Remigio has put together quite the highlight reel at Chiefs training camp and may have some extra chemistry built with Buechele in Kansas City’s preseason exhibition games.
