WATCH: Tom Brady rings lighthouse bell at Gillette Stadium to start season

Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady kick-started the 2023 NFL season by ringing the bell on top of the newly built lighthouse at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

Brady is in town to be honored by his former team as part of a continued celebration for his near 20-year career with the organization.

With No. 12 under center, the Patriots won six Super Bowls and nine AFC championships. They were a perennial playoff contender and the class of the AFC. Brady threw for 74,571 yards, 541 touchdowns and 179 interceptions during his run with the Patriots.

It was a touching moment seeing him back with the team that drafted him and surrounded by thousands of fans that spent years cheering for him.

The Patriots are still working to right the ship without Brady on the roster. It all starts with the new quarterback under center, Mac Jones, and a struggling New England offense hoping to one day return to elite form.
