It didn’t take long for the Washington Commanders to score their first touchdown of the 2023 NFL season.
Washington received the ball first in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, and Howell completed four of six passes on the first drive, but it ended in a punt. Both of Howell’s incompletions were dropped by tight end Logan Thomas.
Buy Commanders TicketsAfter a defensive stand, Howell and the Commanders went back on offense. Aided by three penalties for 67 yards, one of which was a hard shot to Howell on the sideline by Cardinals linebacker Kyzir White, the quarterback completed the drive with an seven-yard touchdown pass to running back Brian Robinson Jr.

This is an outstanding job from Howell, as he sees nothing open, rolls to his left, sees Robinson leaking into the end zone, contorts his body and throws an accurate ball to the running back for the season’s first touchdown.
